45 Minute Sessions

All Piano lessons are Private lessons.  Group lessons are not offered.

The Beginning student will learn to read music, proper hand and finger positions, how to "play" the notes on the keyboard, basic theory.  Through playing a variety of music the student will gain a sense of enjoyment for all kinds of music. The method of teaching is designed for each individual student depending on how he or she learns best and, if the student has had previious training, at what level he or she is currently playing.

The student with previous training will continue with appropriate techique, theory, and repertoire studies.  If skill level is sufficient and the student has the desire, modern jazz theory and improvisation will be introduced with accompaniments by a digital orchestra or jazz rhythm section.

A portion of a lesson may be spent in the MIDI computer lab.  This serves to reinforce the theory, history, and general music concepts that are presented during the keyboard  part of the lesson.  Youngsters and adults alike, enjoy the theory games.
