Meet Patricia Plake

Patricia Plake has enjoyed many successful years performing as a singer and keyboardist in the Chicago, Los Angeles, Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Kansas City areas.  Her performances have included radio, stage work in concerts, musicals, television commercials, and movies.

Raised in Oklahoma, as a teenager she performed widely in that state, singing classical programs which included ancient Italian songs, French and English art songs and oratorio.  While still in high school her accomplished musicianship, keyboard facility, and rich lyrical soprano voice won her scholarship offers to prestigious colleges and conservatories.  She has studied with outstanding private voice and piano coaches, as well as at the University of Missosuri, University of Kansas and the University of Colorado.  Her classical back-ground made a firm basis for piano and vocal performances of popular music and jazz with her group of musicians which included drums, guitar, and bass.

In recent years, Patricia has been producing electronic midi music for productions.  In 2001, she was commissioned to perform, digitally, symphonic music which became part of a display in the children's museum in Bangor, Maine.

Patricia has taught voice, piano, and theory to hundreds of students ranging in age from pre-schoolers to teen-agers to adults and senior citizens, over a period of some 30 years.  She has taught and coached local area professional performers as well as beginners.

Patricia is proud to have had State Winners every time she has submitted a voice student to the voice competitions sponsored by Music Teachers National Association.

Her students not only learn - they look forward to their lessons.  They work hard but they have Fun!!

Pat is a firm believer that Music is to be enjoyed and shared, and truly can enrich lives.
